Information about the Cuba AcDIVE Diving Trip
After your first theory lessons, you will complete along the first practical exercise of at least 2 dives in the pool with your instructor. You will then take 4 more dives in the sea, managed by our instructor. By successfully passing your exam at the of the course, you will receive the ACUC Open Water Diver certification, which allows your to dive to a maximum depth of 18 metres down. From then on, you will be able conquer other dive sites across Cuba. A selection of Cuba's most popular dive sites can be found here.
Approximately 15 km from the center of Havana is the largest marina in Cuba, the Marina Hemingway. With its beaches, the canals and houses with their own private mooring points the marina magically draws in visitors and sailors from all around the world.
But the place is known mainly because of the La Aguja Diving Centre and its range of watersports. Dive Boats are moored in front of the center, ready and waiting to take clients to the 26 dive sites on the north coast of Havana.
For here is waiting an the underwater world with wide coral reefs, caves, mazes and old wrecks to be explored. There are only gentle tides and no strong currents to worry about. The average water temperature is 24 ° C and good clean water ensures that the ocean floors are covered with diverse marine life. The area stands out for its rich fauna, you might see basket-parrotfish, blue marlin, stingrays, turtles, barracudas and sharks as well as corals and starfish.
