Highlights of Havana en Vivo Salsa Holiday
Rum Museum in Havana
On the second day of our Cuba Dance Holiday after a morning of fulfilling our Salsa Havana motto on the dance floor, you can head to the very place that produces “Havana Club” rums. This Rum Museum first opened in 2000 and is situated right in the heart of Havana’s old town. Here you will get a taste of iconic Cuban culture and discover exactly how rum is made; from the harvesting of the sugar cane and the distillation right through to the bottling. A fresh glass of sugarcane juice makes for an even more enjoyable tour and at the end of the tour, you are free to sample the rum!
Playas del Este
The Playas del Este stretch of postcard-perfect white beaches extends for 50km along the coast of Cuba. Located at just 15km east of Cuba’s capital, Playas del Este not only draws the tourists, but is a popular gathering spot for locals. At the weekends, all of Havana comes to relax and enjoy the soft white sand and refreshing waters, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Alongside learning to dance, participants of our Cuba Dance Holiday will have the opportunity to spend their afternoons on the beaches of Playas del Este, soaking up the rays, swimming in the refreshing waters and experiencing how the Cubans get away from it all – a truly authentic experience!
Casa de la Musica
Just before heading home from your Cuba Dance Holiday on day 6, you will have the chance to show off your new moves at the famous “Casa de la Musica” Salsa Club. The “Casa de la Musica” is one of the best and the most famous dance clubs for both young and old in the whole of Havana. All the big names play here, making the live music a particular highlight.Whether you prefer Son, Salsa, Cha-Cha or Rumba, the live band will invariably get you on the dance floor.
